Carvings by Frédéric Fournel

One of the most talented carvers practicing his craft today is a Canadian named Frédéric Fournel, owner of Totek. According to Frédéric, he says "the development of a sculpture is closely linked to the history of the client (interspersed with personal events) the sculptures are unique pieces."

Examples of TOTEK carvings

Native Indians believed that animals have spirits and carving them symbolized different meanings.

Totem poles come in all sizes from small walking sticks to huge trees of carved cedar.

Frédéric Fournel carves full-sized, historically accurate totem poles and he also carves 'walking sticks'. Visit TOTEK to see his other works of art.

Europeans are credited with naming the carved wooden pillars as 'Totem Poles'.

Totem poles were carved by Indian tribes of the Pacific Northwest, Canada and Alaska.

Totek carves monumental native-inspired sculptures using large native trees. Every totem is unique and tells a different story.
